How it works

Enter margin, leverage, and entry price. The calculator shows position size and helps you judge if exposure fits your risk.

Formula

Position Size = Margin × Leverage. Higher leverage multiplies both profit and loss and narrows liquidation distance.

Example

With $1,000 margin at 5x, exposure = $5,000. A 2% move equals ~10% PnL on margin before fees/funding.

Tips

  • Keep leverage low on volatile pairs.
  • Check liquidation buffers with the liquidation calculator.
  • Pair with a stop loss to cap downside.

FAQ

Is higher leverage better?

It increases risk. Small moves can liquidate high-leverage trades.

Does this include funding?

No. Factor funding and fees separately.

What’s safe leverage?

Varies by asset; many traders stay under 5x on volatile coins.
