How it works

Enter entry price, exit price, and size. The calculator returns gross profit, ROI, and final value so you can compare multiple exits, test whether the target is realistic, and see quickly if the trade still looks worth taking after costs.

Formula

Profit = (Exit − Entry) × Quantity. ROI = Profit ÷ Cost × 100. Final Value = Revenue − Fees. Cost is your entry price multiplied by quantity, and revenue is your exit price multiplied by quantity. If you scale in or out, use weighted prices instead of one perfect fill.

Example

Example: Buy 0.5 BTC at $30,000 and sell at $35,000. Revenue = 0.5 × 35,000 = $17,500. Cost = 0.5 × 30,000 = $15,000. Profit = $2,500. ROI ≈ 16.7%. If exchange fees total 0.2% round-trip, the take-home result drops slightly, which matters even more on lower-margin trades.

What affects the result

Fees, slippage, and funding on derivatives reduce net profit. A trade that looks attractive on gross PnL can become mediocre once actual costs are included. That is why the profit calculator works best as a decision tool, not just a result checker.

How to improve accuracy

To improve accuracy, include trading fees, consider slippage on thin books, and use your weighted average entry if you scale in. If your target only barely clears costs, widen the target, reduce fees, or skip the trade.

Tips

  • Include fees and expected slippage for net results.
  • Pair with risk/reward to judge if the target justifies the stop.
  • Use average entry when scaling; don’t assume perfect fills.
  • Keep dollar risk consistent with a position size calculator.

FAQ

How do you calculate crypto trading profit?

Multiply quantity by (exit − entry). Subtract fees for net profit. ROI is profit ÷ cost × 100.

Do crypto trading fees affect profit?

Yes. Maker/taker fees and slippage reduce profit; include them for a realistic estimate.

How accurate are crypto profit calculators?

They’re accurate for the inputs you provide. Add fees, funding, and slippage to reflect real fills.

Can this calculator estimate ROI?

Yes. ROI = profit ÷ cost × 100, shown alongside profit and final value.
